Who are we trying to reach?

Meet Cliff and Sandy Rubble – hard-working young parents from our community. Their son, 8 year-old Clay, and daughter, 16 year-old Pebbles live just a few minutes from the church in a neighborhood filled with young families. They love music and sports, and spending time together. Still, the rigors of family life today make for some tough times for the Rubbles. They need help and encouragement and a solid base in their lives.

But, there's more. . .

Worship and Spiritual Seekers

At Quarry Ridge, we have attempted to design our worship celebration to teach, challenge, inspire and entertain both Christ-followers and spiritual seekers. No matter where someone might be in their journey of life and faith, I believe seekers and followers can glean important things from their time with us in a worship celebration.

Giving

I’ve had many people ask me throughout the years about giving. Their questions have centered mainly on “why” we have to give in the first place. After all, “God owns everything - surely He doesn’t need my money!”

God does own everything. Psalm 24:1 tells us that “The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it. . .” That includes us and everything we own. However, everything He owns He has entrusted to stewards to take care of it for Him. That’s you and I; we are stewards of God’s wealth tied up here on planet earth. He let’s us use it as we need, but He asks us to bring a portion back to Him for His use in building His Kingdom.

Praise

There are many forms of praise shown in Scripture. Nearly every form of praise involves action – and many involve making noise! In our worship of God, we are able to show Him our love, adoration and respect by utilizing one or more of these more recognizable forms of praise.

“Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!” (Psalm 150)

Readable Lyrics in Worship

OK – I know I’m a little weird on this point.

I’m one of those people who can worship almost anywhere. Most of the time, few things can distract me. That’s not the weird part. . . what’s weird is that although nothing usually distracts me, there is one simple thing that tends to trip me up all the time.

Worship

You are created to worship. . .

We’re to be a worshipping people, glorifying and praising God every day (Psalm 150, John 4:24, Hebrews 12:28).

Remember - you were planned to praise God!

Tell

You are commissioned to witness. . .

We’re to go into all the world and make disciples - and teach them to obey everything Jesus taught us. This is Christ’s Great Commission to us. He has given us the ministry of reconciling the world to God, and He will remain with us always (Matthew 28:18-20, 2 Corinthians 5:17-19).

Remember - you were made for a mission!

Serve

You are committed to service. . .

We’re created and gifted in wonderful and unique ways to serve God and others (Psalm 139; 1 Corinthians chapters 12, 13, and 14).

Remember - you were shaped for service!

Belonging

You are connected in fellowship. . .

We’re to be a part of a community of believers, and to enjoy each other. The Acts 2 church is not simply a nice story – it’s a model of how we should live day by day (Acts 2:42-47, Ephesians 4:1-7).

Remember - you were formed for God’s family!

Grow

You are called to be Christ-like. . .

We’re to become more and more like Christ every day, bearing fruit, and living lives that glorify God (Philippians 1:21, Ephesians 5, Colossians 1:10-12, Galatians 2:20, 2 Peter 1:5-8).

Remember - you were created to be Christ-like!

Love

You are commanded to love. . .

We’re to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength; and love our neighbors as ourselves (Matthew 22:37-39). This is Christ’s Great Commandment to us.

Remember - you were led to love!
