The mission of Quarry Ridge Community Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ who make disciples of Jesus Christ. Christ’s Great Commandment (Matthew 28:18-20) compels us to share the good news of God’s Kingdom with the world around us, and to teach the things Jesus taught until we all become unconditional in our surrender to Christ. This mission motivates all we do in ministry and in life.
The basis of our mission and our belief is God’s Word – the Bible. The Bible, inspired with life by God, serves as our ultimate guide and authority for living. His Word cannot fail us, and is without error. His Word teaches us that God is eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
God created humanity to live in perfect, loving community with Him, but we chose to take our own path and are therefore separate and isolated from Him. God’s plan to restore to a loving relationship with Him required that His Son, Jesus, live as one of us and die in place of us to atone for our sinful separation from God.
Jesus Christ, fully human and fully God, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life to show us how to live, and died in our place to take away the penalty of eternal death for all who believe and surrender their lives to Him. Christ’s forgiveness and offer of salvation is the only way that humanity can be restored to a right relationship with our Holy God. Jesus will come again one day to bring human history to a close, and to take Christ-followers home for eternity in Heaven.
Until His return, God’s Holy Spirit draws a lost and struggling humanity to Christ, and indwells all who believe and bow their knees to Christ’s leadership in their lives. The Holy Spirit gives us the ability to live godly lives, and imparts special abilities to all who follow Christ to enable us to effectively serve God and the people around us.
All of humanity will live eternally. Those who have received Jesus as forgiver and leader of their lives will be physically resurrected to an eternity in fellowship with God; those who refuse to surrender their lives to Christ will be resurrected to a life eternally separated from God.
The Church is Christ’s greatest tool in the world for reaching a seeking and searching humanity with the great good news of God’s desire for reconciliation and restoration. All Christ-followers should seek to live in spiritual unity, as together we work to build God’s Kingdom and help one another to be like Christ.
